Cosh Omar

As an actor, Cosh has been seen extensively on our screens over the years from the BBC???s ???BLEAK HOUSE??? to ITV???s ???WALL OF SILENCE??? from ???SPOOKS??? to ???EASTENDERS??????.. His theatre work includes many years spent working through a number of productions at Arcola Theatre and Theatre Royal Stratford East and a very successful production of Hassan Abdulrazzak???s, ???BAGHDAD WEDDING??? at Soho Theatre which he also performed on Radio for BBC Radio 4.

As a writer, Cosh was Writer-in-Residence at the Theatre Royal Stratford East for eight years.?? His first play, ???THE BATTLE OF GREEN LANES???, had a very successful run having launched the new Artistic Directorship and was published by Oberon Books. ??His short story, ???SON OF A HOCA???, was a winning entry the Decibel Penguin Prize and was published by Penguin Books in the anthology, ???FROM THERE TO HERE???.?? His essay, ???REBEL WITH A CAUSE: A PERSONAL JOURNEY FROM SUFISM TO ISLAMISM AND BEYOND???, was published in the United States by Palgrave Macmillan in the book, ???THE OTHER MUSLIMS???.?? ???THE GREAT EXTENSION???, his follow-up play at the Theatre Royal proved to be an equal success and was also published by Oberon Books and Cosh is now working on his third play.
